Mobilizing and uniting people to push back against authoritarianism and embrace their power to re-create a Democracy that works for all Americans.
Our Goals
50501/No Kings Portland seeks to help remove the authoritarian regime and create true Democracy through public mobilization (marches/economic disruption), and political pressure (running for office/participation in local political systems), while facilitating the creation of people-driven networks of support (mutual aid/neighborhood support and education). We focus on creating a broad base of people through novel approaches to creating and maintaining civic action.
Marches
This is where we started! Our marches will typically be connected to No Kings/50501 National dates, and are structured with facilities, performances, and lots of tabling organizations. These are the big and highly planned mobilizing events, typically located at the Waterfront in Downtown Portland
Fairs
Ready to do more than march? Come out for fun, education and connection. We will have ways to get involved, education about free and democratic elections, the power of our labor, economic disruption, community building through rapid response, mutual aid, and skill shares. These generally have free classes and lots of opportunities to get involved locally in the way that speaks to you.
